Ashleigh Brown (Member at Large) who was presented with the Chapter Service Award for her dedication and hard work with the BOG and role in 2020’s CRC conference. Ashleigh was crucial for our Chapter to host the 2020 CRC and was given the unprecedented task to navigate the craziness of 2020 COVID. From planning for an in person event to the many changes to get us to a fully virtual event, her contributions have gone on to help serve as a guideline for future hybrid and virtual CRC events.

David Evers (Research Promotion) who has been recognized by society for his efforts to raise money for research promotion. David helped our chapter exceed the regionals Goal, High Five, and Challenge Goal initiatives. David’s efforts helped our chapter be recognized by Region VI as one of the top contributing chapters based on chapter size which is even more impressive considering the difficulties that 2020 presented everyone. Last year, ASHRAE was able to fund over $1.7 million in ASHRAE Research, added $135,000 to scholarships, and $333,000 to endowed trust funds, and still supported various other funds!

2021 Donald Bahnfleth Environmental Health Award
Paul W. Francisco, Fellow Member ASHRAE, of the Central Illinois Chapter, received the Donald Bahnfleth Environmental Health Award, which recognizes excellence in volunteer service focused on environmental health issues. Francisco is associate director for building science, Applied Research Institute, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Champaign, IL.
